To start this post I understand how convenient and easy it is to take your car to these places but with speed comes the sacrifice of quality, safety and even the risk of damage to your vehicle.
Taking your vehicle to these places will most definitely cause swirls and scratches in your paintwork over time as most use the same water for multiple cars and the same wash mitts. Essentially they are dragging dirt/road grime from other vehicles over your precious paintwork causing this damage.
The products they use are most likely very strong, cheap, acidic products that can break down dirt effectively but also will damage the clear coat on your paint. The acidic wheel cleaners they use can cause the clear coat on them to react and bubble up, creating a real nasty look to your once perfect wheels.
On the interior side of things, it’s normally not a deep clean and just a quick vacuum, dashboard wipe and dressing (which are normally solvent based and can damage the interior trims of your vehicle)
Now, you may think I’m saying this to scare you into using our services at TGS Detailing. That is not what I am doing in this blog post, I simply want to educate people on the risk of these services.
Our services at TGS Detailing, while definitely more expensive than your average car wash, provide a deeper, safer clean for your vehicle leaving a factory finish inside and out. For example at a car wash an inside and out clean can take between 20-30 minutes while at TGS Detailing our Deep Clean Package can take anywhere from 4-6 hours. We take pride at TGS Detailing giving our clients a premium service, returning their vehicles to a factory standard.
The products and processes we use are always paint safe and safe for ceramic coatings. For example we use PH neutral snow foam and shampoo on ceramic coated and non ceramic coated vehicles to prevent any damage to the clear coat. We use the two-bucket Wash method with grit guards for the paint work, switch and rinse wash mitts after every panel and use microfibre drying towels to ensure no abrasions on the paint.
On the wheel side of things we never use acids unless absolutely necessary and use iron remover, citrus pre wash & PH neutral shampoo to do a deep clean on the arches, tyres, wheels and wheel barrels.
For the interior we vacuum, steam and spray carpet cleaner on the carpets, getting back that factory finish. We will clean the leather with a leather-safe cleaner, steam the leather & apply a protective coating to keep the matte finish for as long as possible.
We will clean & steam the interior trims creating sanitised surfaces bringing the interior of your car back to life.
