Hi All,
In this post I’m going to give you the run down about who I am and how I’ve come to own and run my own detailing business.
So, a bit about me. I’m Tom and I’m from Derbyshire. I’ve always had a passion for cars, motorsport and engines but never knew which direction to go with work. I’ve always had a passion for cars since an early age, going on driving experiences, to car shows and car spotting in my local area.
I’ve always wanted to be involved in the motoring industry and had no clue where to start. This started as a bit of a passion project of mine as I would meticulously go around my own car every week making sure it looked perfect as it was my pride and joy.
It was getting to the point where I felt I could make a business out of this after getting comments from friends and family about how good my car always looked.
I started asking friends, family, neighbours to detail their vehicles for pictures, feedback and referrals and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. That’s when I decided this is what I want to do and put everything into TGS Detailing to do this full time.
I machine polished and ceramic coated my own car and it came out surprisingly well due to my lack of training and experience. Since then I have had formal training on both of these skills at GTECHNIQ in Northampton.
Unfortunately I had to sell my car for a van to work on my business and make it the best it can be. I have had the van boarded out with a water tank, pressure washer and air compressor. I will go into more detail soon in a later post about this.
Over time I have become known in my local area for my work and through working with Pyramid Car Care, I have now got this lovely website for TGS Detailing.
The support with my business has been amazing, reaching out to brands, other local businesses and really getting involved with the community. It’s definitely a challenge owning a business at 20 years old but there is nothing I’m not prepared for.
I thank every single one of my clients for supporting my business and can’t wait to see what the future holds for TGS Detailing.
