You may think keeping your car clean during winter is pointless as it will just get dirty again but, keeping your car clean during winter will actually help keep the build up of contamination on the paintwork to a minimum.

Why is this important? Well, dirt builds up over time. This means the longer you leave the dirt on your car, means its just that much harder to remove the contamination from the vehicle.

Essentially, keeping up with the maintenance on your vehicle, makes it easier to clean.

Now onto the guide;

1: Clean the wheels and wheel barrels using iron remover on the rims and a citrus based cleaner for the tyres. For extra cleaning power and a safer clean, use a high foaming car shampoo to lubricate your brushes and mitts.

2: Use a Citrus Pre-wash to soak the paintwork and pull the dirt from the paint safely. Do not touch the paint at this point at this point. Leave the cleaner to dwell on the paint for 2-5 minutes depending on temperature. Then pressure wash off, going from bottom to top, ensuring you miss no dirt

3: use a snow foam & snow foam lance to apply the foam to the vehicle. Apply the foam in horizontal passes, from bottom to top. Make sure you get every bit of the car covered in foam. Leave to dwell for 3-5 mins depending on temperature. Pressure wash off from top to bottom for the easiest rinse.

70% – 90% of dirt should be removed by this point

4: use the two bucket wash method, microfibre mitts and a foaming car shampoo to wash the car from top to bottom, rinsing the mitt after every panel. Pressure wash the soap off from top to bottom

5: use an iron decon and tar remover on the paintwork. Let these dwell for 1-3 mins. Pressure wash off

6: use a ceramic spray sealant such as Wet Coat From GYEON. Spray this onto the paintwork ensuring even coverage. Using this will add hydrophobic qualities to your paintwork. Your car will now be dirt repellent and keep clean for longer. Rinse this off

7: Dry your car using either a blower or microfibre drying towel

8: use an IPA based glass cleaner and waffle weave towel to clean the glass

9: Dress the tyres with a foam applicator

10: Sit back and admire your work
