Dealership Ceramic Coatings, and why they probably aren’t a good idea

Most of you have probably bought a car from a dealership and had a “ceramic coating” offered to you for a ridiculous price of between £800 and £1100. Now you may think this is a good price to pay for a ceramic coating. Let me show you why it’s probably not.

The valeters as these main dealers are normally on a strict time frame of around 6 hours to prepare a car. This means that they probably won’t be too careful of minimising risks as they have a deadline. This can mean a few things. Missed spots, Coatings not adhering properly, scratched paintwork to name some.

Most of the time these ceramic coatings don’t even come with a machine polish. Compare that to us, We charge £769 for our top package of a two stage paint correction and a 5 year ceramic coating.

Furthermore our New Car Package which includes a Single Stage Machine Polish (to get rid of factory hazing and the swirl marks from wipe downs at the dealership) and a 5 year Ceramic Coating which we will warranty if you join our maintenance plan, only costs £449 (or £599 for full interior/exterior protection). This is around half of what a dealership charges plus you get a lot more bang for your buck.

This money saved and value added is why us detailers who care about your pride and joy, are trained professionals at our services and do this day in day out using only the best equipment and products, think using a detailing company to protect your new car is definitely the way to go.
